Farm Machinery and Power Engineering
The Department of Farm Machinery and Power Engineering, Faculty of Agricultural Engineering leads to the applications of engineering principles and technology in agricultural production, storage and processing on the farm. It is changed with the responsibilities of designing, developing and testing indigenous technologies for crop production and processing. This department is involved in teaching, research and extension activities related to farm machinery and power engineering.

2. Activities held in department:
- Farm machinery laboratory : Various machineries/equipments are kept in the Farm machinery laboratory to get acquainted the students to working principle of the machine in agricultural production from land preparation to harvesting and threshing stage, testing of machine
- Workshop: This department is having well equipped FMP workshop and machine shop with welding, machining, cutting machineries and well trained man
- Drawing laboratory: This department is also having Drawing laboratory where engineering drawing and machine drawing practicals are taught to students.
- CAD Laboratory: In CAD laboratory, the CAD software is being taught to students to get acquainted with basic designing of machine
- Farm Power Laboratory : Various models and cut models are kept in the Farm Power laboratory to get acquainted the students to working principle of the machine, various systems on tractor, sprayers etc

5. Research and Extension activity:
The fabrication, development and modification work of machine parts are carried out under research work of academic, research staff and students. The farmers, students, women self help groups visited the Implement park to get acquainted with improved farm machineries.
