5.    Research and Extension activity:

Today, most of Arid and Semi arid region faces the problem of drought and Humid region faces the problem of flood. To overcome this problem of farmers and increase production, there is requirement of increase the water availability and reduce erosion. Soil and water conservation department plays an important role in above points by providing structures like contour bunding, graded bunding, terracing and various soil and water conservation practices for watershed development. Also this department joined with various NGO like WOTR, BAIF and Pani foundation etc. for development of Arid, semi arid and Humid region by assessment of various region using Remote sensing and GIS techniques and for construction of various structure according to the region. Department provides information and demonstration about Pani Foundation works to farmers, students which will be helpful for development of Semi-arid, Arid and Humid region.
